Small journal 327 crank in a 283 block
Webb9 feb. 2015 · Smj 327, 283 crank and 11.0 327 pop up pistons GM 3866954. Reading online some call these L79 pistons. Bought this as a short block, owner said it was running. Anyone know how far down the hole these pistons are suppose to be? I just took took the pan off 5 mins ago, will have to measure what I got. Webb1 aug. 2011 · All 283's were small journal. All 67 and older 327's were small journal. Actual 67 302 crankshafts were identified by a round flywheel flange with a notch cut out of it. Small journal = 2.3" Diameter mains.
